The procedure is the same as applying for a new OCI card. The guidelines are below for the application of renewal of OCI card are as follows:

An applicant who is 20 years of age or younger should apply for renewal each time a new passport is issued.
An applicant who is 50 or older should apply for renewal once after the new passport is issued.
Applicants who are between 21 to 49 years of age need not apply for renewal every time a new passport is issued. Common Reasons for Rejection of OCI Card Some of the common reasons for the rejection of OCI cards are as follows:
